Barre is a fast-paced, 55-minute full body workout which blends dance conditioning moves performed at the ballet barre with Pilates, Yoga and sculpting exercises utilising light weights.
This total body workout strengthens, lengthens, and stretches your body from top to toe. The end result is a long, lean dancer's physique… without added bulk.
From 1st June, 2018 you'll begin to see Barre 2.0 classes (as well as regular Barre classes) on our timetable. All of our instructors are gradually upgrading their training to teach Barre 2.0. Barre 2.0 lessons go beyond the experience of a standard barre class. There's a higher level of training for instructors and an increased focus on precision, technique and flow. The results speak for themselves.

Our studio introduced Barre classes to Western Australia in 2011 and Studio Director Elizabeth Wilson was Perth's first Xtend Barre teacher trainer. In 2017 Xtend Barre Australia underwent a change of ownership and, having become aware of the limitations of the existing Barre training programs available in Australia, Elizabeth moved on to found Barre 2.0.
Barre 2.0 offers one of the most comprehensive Barre teacher training programs currently available world wide (click here for details). Barre 2.0 instructors complete a minimum of 200 hours of training as part of their undergraduate Barre course before engaging in ongoing continuing education to continue to upgrade & expand their skills. Today, master trainers from The Perth Pilates Studio regularly run Barre 2.0 instructor training & continuing education courses within Australia & overseas.

A number of times each year, we offer special 75 minute long barrecamp classes to kick your workout into high gear. We hold nothing back to whip your body into shape and help your mind overcome its imagined limits.
